Chicago Tribune Reports on the SaveBrett.net Bus Tour

Chicago Tribune columnist Mike Downey caught up with us by phone when we were in Madison and just yesterday reported about SaveBrett.net in a light hearted column that contemplated a trade between the Packers and the Bears - a Favre for Urlacher exchange to be exact.

From all reports, Breett will never play in Green Bay again. He probably will play nowhere unless traded to a playoff potential team. Both sides have been wrong in some ways, but it the better option in the short run is Brett Farve. How this could get this far is beyond belief. We are talking about an extremely efficient quarterback with an excllent year last year. I am a Brett/Pack fan but have somewhat wondered about some high risk passes. This has not been an issue in recent years. If Mr. Thompson does not give the best quarterback some option to return with the option to play or compete for his old job, I think stockholders should look long and hard at present management. Stockholders at any level look for return on investment. Return here means winning games and game receipts and playoff receipts. You win with the best you can place on the field. The best combination should play for the Packers. If not stockholders should have a loud voice with the directors at the company they own. Many think egos are involved on both sides. We Packer fans would like to know why management chooses to make such decisions. Many of us will no longer be Packer faithful, and it appears many will become Packer haters. This is sad for all involved. I truly hope it can be resolved, or a cloud will hang over this time for quite a while.
